Kinship Housing Co-operative

140 units across two parcels in Vancouver’s River District, Kinship is an affordable co-operative housing project being developed in partnership with the Community Land Trust Foundation of BC (CLT) and the Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency (VAHA) with low-interest financing provided by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) under the Rental Construction Financing Initiative program. Geared to low-and-moderate income households, 71 per cent of the units are family residences incorporating barrier free design requirements throughout all common areas and amenities. Twelve homes are fully accessible, and the building(s) achieve a 15% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and energy efficiencies against the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB 2015) baseline.
